Google Integration Step 3: Setting Up a Conversion Goal in Google Analytics

Create A Goal In Google Analytics

Once you have your container published, you’ll want to navigate over to Google Analytics. Navigate to ‘Admin’ and under View, select ‘Goals’. Create a new goal, and scroll down and choose ‘Custom.

Under ‘Goal Description’ Name your goal, and choose ‘Event’. Then select continue.

Under ‘Goal Details’ you want to include the values that you used in GTM when configuring your Tag. It is important that these match exactly so Google passes the correct information on the button clicks. Click to save your goal.

Once you’re tracking one step in your reservation process, you can go back and track each step. Once you’re tracking each step in the process, you’re ready to start making changes to your site to improve your conversion rates!
